1Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of RTO Vehicle Information at rtovehicleinformation.in, including its pages, tools, calculators and guides (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not need a physical or digital signature.
2What the Site is, and is not
The Site is a private information service. It is not a government portal and is not owned by, operated by or affiliated with Parivahan, VAHAN, Sarathi, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, any state transport department or any RTO.
The Site does not register a vehicle, issue or renew a licence, transfer ownership, collect or settle a challan, take payments, or file an RTO form. For those tasks, use the official portal or the regional transport office. See the Disclaimer.
3What the Site offers
- vehicle RC search and driving licence search;
- an RTO office directory and RTO information by state;
- fuel prices, traffic rules and fines by state;
- vehicle loan EMI calculators, a vehicle age calculator and a resale value estimator;
- a cars and bikes catalogue, driving school listings and a learner's test practice area; and
- guides, links to official forms and news.
All of this is free to use. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
4Accuracy of information
Records, prices, fines and office details are fetched through a third-party data library or compiled from public sources. A field can be missing, masked or out of date. Owner names are never shown in full. Calculators give estimates only: an EMI, resale value or age may differ from what a lender, dealer or RTO calculates.
Penalty amounts, fees and procedures differ by state and change over time. Always confirm anything important on the official portal or with the regional transport office before you act on it.
5Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site for anything unlawful, or to harass, stalk or profile another person;
- search for details of a vehicle or licence you have no genuine reason to look up;
- use bots, scrapers or scripts to collect data from the Site, or to call its API outside our pages;
- try to bypass the Site's limits or security, probe it for weaknesses or overload it;
- copy, resell or republish the Site's content, design or data without written permission; or
- misrepresent who you are or imply the Site is a government service.
We may limit or block access, without notice, to protect the Site or other users.
6Intellectual property
The Site's text, design, layout, graphics, logo and code belong to RTO Vehicle Information or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view the Site and share links to it for personal use. Trademarks, logos and data of manufacturers, portals and other third parties belong to their owners and appear for identification only.
7Third-party sites and services
The Site links to official portals and other websites, and some data comes from third-party providers. We do not control them, do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content, availability, fees or privacy practices. You use them at your own risk and under their own terms.
8Advertising and affiliate links
We may show advertising or include affiliate links to support the Site. Ads will be labelled and kept apart from the information you asked for. Advertisers are responsible for their own offers, and we do not guarantee or endorse any product or service shown in an ad. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies are handled.
9No warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty, express or implied, about accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a purpose or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, money or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or from relying on any information on it, including any decision about buying, selling, insuring, licensing or paying a fine for a vehicle.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the extent the law permits. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you enter and for how you use the information you find. You agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer because you broke these Terms or the law.
12Suspension and changes
We may suspend or end access to the Site at any time, for example if these Terms are broken. We may update these Terms when the Site or the law changes. The new version takes effect when posted on this page, and continuing to use the Site means you accept it.
13Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the courts of competent jurisdiction in India. Please contact us first at contact@rtovehicleinformation.in so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
